Down For Mobbing hosted its first Prerunner Island Meet at Fiesta Island in San Diego, California. Fiesta Island is a one-way loop with a beach around its perimeter, perfect for pulling up your prerunner, overland van, Baja Bug, or beach cruiser and enjoying the views of Mission Bay. The event drew over 300 prerunners and countless other off-road vehicles. Down For Mobbing hosted a BBQ fundraiser for Clean-Dezert, a non-profit organization that works to keep off-highway vehicle (OHV) areas open. The fundraiser raised $876, thanks to the support of vendors and local businesses that set up booths and donated prizes. Participants purchased a $20 lunch plate of their choice, hamburger or hotdog, as well as soda and chips, to enter a raffle for one of the many awesome prizes.
Down For Mobbing is looking to double the donation amount to Clean-Dezert at its second annual Prerunner Island Meet. Every year, more OHV areas are closed. It is important that we stand up and fight back to keep public lands open for off-roading. This event is just one of the ways Down For Mobbing tries to do that.
