Southern California’s off-road scene has been waiting for a fresh, raw venue that feels like the golden days of stadium and desert racing. That wait is over.
Powwow Raceway just opened on 2,000 acres of tribal land in Anza, California, just 36 miles from Temecula. What used to be a potato farm is now one of the cleanest, most promising new off-road facilities in the region. Minimal rocks, excellent dirt, and a grassroots spirit that’s impossible to miss the second you pull in.

Built by the People Who Actually Race It
Most new tracks come with big money, investors, and corporate backing. Powwow Raceway took a different route.
Once we got approval, we broke ground immediately. Tractors, dirt work, testing laps — all done out of pocket by the same people who wanted the track to exist. No delays. No committees. Just action.
We built it in real time. Early test runs showed the big jump needed more dirt because V8 trucks with 40s were hitting it with serious speed and going flat. So they pushed more dirt, adjusted the landing, and sent it again. That hands-on, rider-first approach defines the whole place.
During one of those early sessions, pro driver "Mark Fisk" absolutely sent the long jump. The crew watched, looked at each other, and immediately named it "The Fisk Leap". The name stuck — and it sets the tone for what this track is about.

The Track Layout: Short Course Meets Open Desert
Powwow Raceway features a versatile short course with varied jump layouts designed to challenge different vehicle types and skill levels. Highlights include:
- The signature "Fisk Leap" a serious long jump built for trucks that means business.
- A natural two-track desert loop that connects back to the short course. Drivers who discovered it mid-session lit up the energy shifted instantly.
- Thousands of acres of surrounding open desert terrain for additional exploration and future expansion.
Every class is welcome: prerunners, motos, SXS/UTVs, 1400, and 1400 Pro class trucks. If you built it to run desert, there’s a line here for you.

Early Feedback: The Community Is Hyped
Even with just a couple of test dates under their belt, the response has been overwhelmingly positive. Drivers are praising the track length, jump variety, flow, and that unmistakable raw desert feel.
One early tester summed it up perfectly: “This is going to be badass — giving off ROR vibes for sure.”
That’s exactly the goal. Powwow Raceway is bringing back the spirit of old-school stadium off-road racing — loud, gritty, and built for the people who actually show up and rip it. No massive grandstands. Just drivers, crews, and spectators right at the edge of the action.

What’s Next: TD3 and Beyond
The team is taking a smart, intentional approach. They’re growing through test dates and building toward full-scale events. "TD3" is on the horizon, with driver spots intentionally limited to keep the quality and community focus high.
On-site camping is available, and civilization is close: hotels, a casino, restaurants, and a NAPA are just minutes away in Temecula.
Ready to Get Involved?
This isn’t a sit-in-the-stands kind of place. It’s a “you’re part of it” experience.
TD3 dates are being finalized. The best way to stay in the loop for registration, spectator info, and updates is to get on the list and follow the action.
